Common exclusions include loss of use, theft of non-standard accessories, embezzlement, and damage from towing another vehicle, overloading, or driving while already damaged. Third-party liability can be added as an extension to either plan.
All Risks
- Collision, impact, and skidding, including damage from manufacturing or construction defects
- Malicious acts by others (standard exclusions apply, such as the insured's own family members or employees using the vehicle with permission)
- Theft, including theft accompanied by violence or the threat of it
- Fire, including fire spreading from a nearby vehicle
- Loss during ferry crossings
- Towing costs to a repair shop, up to a policy limit
Total Loss Only
- Covers the same insured perils as All Risks, but only pays out when the damage reaches a set threshold — typically around 75% or more of the vehicle's market value.
